Do you have an invaluable skill?
If you have knowledge or expertise in any of the following areas, or can think of some additional
way in which you could assist us, then in our opinion, yes you do.
- Desktop publishing (for assistance with our quarterly newsletter as well as design and production of direct mail flyers)
- Marketing (for assistance in getting people to our programs)
- Public Relations (for assistance in making Beacon Dance a household word)
- Photography (for assistance in all of the above mentioned areas)
If you would like to volunteer your services (or someone else's) in performing your invaluable skill, please call Artistic Director D. Patton White at 404.377.2929.
Beacon Dance is a not-for-profit organization
that operates with funds from three primary sources. The first source is our earned income. This money comes from box-office receipts, advertising revenue, fees for performances, classes and workshops and other
miscellaneous sources. The second source is in the form of grants and contracts for services from
the Georgia Council for the Arts and from the DeKalb Council for the Arts, and occasionally with a variety of other
governmental or public agencies and foundations. The third and most significant source is in the form or contributions from businesses and from individuals like yourself. Approximately eighty percent of our revenues go
directly towards the creation of art by paying the art makers and performers for their efforts. Only a small percentage goes towards administration and rental fees. So when you make a contribution to Beacon Dance, you
are actually investing in the creation of a work of art, not unlike the purchase of a painting, photography, sculpture or other piece of "tangible" art. Please consider investing in one of our upcoming
projects by making a tax-deductible contribution to Beacon Dance today.
