Movement Score Following the Performance
We invite you to find your own dance in the Big Trees Forest Preserve. Take some time to follow the proposed movement score below, or come up with your own score.
Cellular Fluid: Take a moment to pause, and either find a place to sit or find a place to stand. Close your eyes. Breath in the forest air. Allow your attention to focus on your awareness and your sense of being. Find a sense of quiet and stillness. Remain in this state for as long as you care to.
Interstitial/Intercellular Fluid: With your eyes open take a look around you. Notice the vegetation. Notice the earth. Notice the water. Notice the sky. Allow these influences to filter into your body and then allow your body to begin to move within this environment. Follow your instincts and share your dance with the forest.
Arterial/Venous Blood: If you wish to embody Arterial Blood, begin to walk or move rhythmically with a pulsing beat. If you wish to embody Venous Blood, flow freely through the forest in a wave-like manner, and allowing your attention to drift from the earth to the heavens and back down again.
Cerebrospinal Fluid: Take a moment to engage in Spinal Cord Breathing, by drawing your elbows back behind you as your chest and lungs reach up towards the sky, inhaling deep breaths. Shift your elbows in front of you as you collapse your spine forward and exhale.
Lymph Fluid: Bring all of your attention and awareness to one particular thing that you are noticing--something you see, something you hear, something you smell, something you feel. Devote all of your attention on this one thing, being a specific and direct as possible.
Synovial Fluid: Allow your journey through the forest to be loose, rubbery, jiggly, and bring a smile to your being.
